Stratified E30 Tuning – rev 6

The next revision to the Stratified E30 tune includes changes to smoothen spool up and increase top end performance.

In the following charts the solid line is rev 6 and the dashed lines are rev 5. The intake air temperature is close to the same for each revision during the data logging.

Whatever the change was to smoothen spool up it is too subtle for me to detect in the boost data chart with this revision.

Next is AFR which looks to be unchanged.

The next chart shows boost and fuel rail pressure, the dip past 5,000 rpm has been present for a number of revisions now.

The LPFP duty cycle is increased slightly starting around the initial boost peak.

Timing continues to suffer from the intermittent traction once boost rises.

The cause can be seen in the following chart of Boost and Vehicle Speed, the tire slip starts around 3600 rpm and continues intermittently until almost 5600 rpm

Putting the data into Virtual Dyno. A partial pull was attempted in 4th gear to try and alleviate the traction problem, this is the red line.

Not surprisingly, as the tuning process is entering the final phase the changes seen with this revision are small.

    1. To get Stratified the data they want I do. I supplement the AP with a DATAQ device that has some additional sensors feeding into it.
