Continuing the characterization of the EQT DSG TCU tune that is installed on my GTI. The charts below show the “kickdown” behavior of the tune. Kickdown meaning under acceleration at what amount of accelerator pedal input does the tune command the transmission to shift down to a lower gear.
The tune will readily downshift with moderate pedal input. The threshold is set high enough that normal driving should not initiate a downshift, but the tune is “eager” to downshift with beyond routine pedal modulation.
