Background:
After making a post on Jul 12, 2024, about comparing flow tests with the Blaze ATOM Race V2 intake and a modified stock intake, I made a post linking to the results in the Mk7 GTI Owners Facebook Group.
Less than two hours later the post was deleted.
Later in the day, I was contacted by another owner who said they had tried posting a link in another group, only to suffer the same fate – the link and post it was contained in were deleted by the group moderators.
Question:
This got me thinking about how many VW enthusiast groups might censor the test results if the link to them were to appear in their discussion thread.
The Test:
To find out, here is a list of some popular (based on membership size) Facebook groups for VW enthusiasts.
I want to see if making a post on these sites, linking to the Blaze & Stock intake test page, can survive 24 hours of exposure.
Facebook Group | Success Reward | Status |
---|---|---|
Mk7 GTI Owners – | $20 | Post Made – Post Deleted – Survival Time ~1 hr. |
Mk7 & Mk7.5 Golf GTI Owners – | $20 | Post Made – Post Deleted – Survival Time ~ 3hrs. |
Golf Mk7 Performance Club – | $20 | |
VW Mk7 Golf – GTI – R – MQB – | $20 | |
EQT VW/Audi Group – | $30 |
The Payoff:
As the table indicates, if someone can successfully keep the post with a link to the test on one or more of these Facebook Groups they’ll win the Reward amount.
The Terms:
- Only the first person to accomplish the task is going to be rewarded. I’m not interested in spamming a FB Group, so check that somebody has not already posted before you post.
- Once you make your post, take a screenshot of the post with the Group name and email it to me at jeff@mygolfmk7.com The clock starts when the email is delivered to me with the screenshot attached. (I will check to verify the post is active and if it makes it 24 hours.)
- If the post is still active, viewable by group members and they can comment on it, (cannot have comments turned off, that’s censoring), 24 hours later, you win.
- I’ll send the Reward to the email address, or other contact info you supply, associated with a PayPal or Zelle account. (For PayPal I will use Friends and Family).
- Use the description provided below along with the embedded link. Failing to use the description or link to the post page is disqualifying.
I will update the table from time to time with the status of each group so you know if somebody has already posted to a group.
Description:
Copy and paste the following into the FB discussion post:
Here is a test of the Blaze ATOM Race V2 and the stock GTI airbox with some modifications, minimizing the contribution of the inlet elbow. The stock GTI airbox performs well against the aftermarket intake.

Outcomes:
Mk7 GTI Owners
The person who made the post on Mk7 GTI Owners let me know that the post didn’t last an hour before they received this notification.
Mk7 & Mk7.5 Golf GTI Owners
At this site, the post survived three hours, but a heroic bullshitting effort by a General Manager at Euro Parts Haus, a shop that sells the Blaze Intake, was successful in getting the post removed.
Adding a touch of comic absurdity to Alex’s comments defaming my work and equipment is the fact that Euro Parts Haus has stolen one of my flow test charts from my website (all material is copyright protected) and they are using it to sell the Blaze ATOM Race intake.
You cannot make this shit up.
