I came very close to purchasing a used 2016 Golf R. The particular car I was interested in was modified extensively with bolt ons, not always a positive, and in fact a number of the after market parts on this Golf R were ones I was not interested in having. What made this particular vehicle attractive was that the owner still had the majority of the stock parts. Having the option to switch back to stock components where I wanted was appealing.
Ultimately the fact that it had fairly high mileage for a two-year old car and concerns about how hard such a heavily modified car had been driven led me to make a pass at the last-minute.
