Flow testing of the Induct Performance intake led to a question about what design factor of the APR airbox is driving the APR airflow to a lower relative value. This test was performed to gain some insight that may help with answering the question.
The APR airbox was first tested in the normal configuration and made a reading within the margin of error of the prior test of this intake.

Next the front portion of the intake that covers the air filter was removed making the APR the equivalent of an open intake.

The flow test was repeated and results of the test are shown below:

Conclusion:
The removal of the inlet/air filter cover resulted in a significant increase in the airflow through the APR intake system.
