After a previous flow test with the Treadstone TR8C where the intercooler was connected to the flow bench without a reducing coupler, which will be used on the car, I wanted to see how it flowed with the coupler.
A suitable coupler was obtained and the flow test was repeated.
As predicted the airflow decreased, although surprisingly only by a negligible 1 CFM, with the IC now flowing 268 CFM @ 28″ of H2O.
Results of this flow test are shown on the chart to compare with other FMICs that have been flow tested.
The TR8C continues to look promising for use as part of a bicooler setup.
Note: Flow performance is not an indicator for how well an intercooler will cool. Evaluating cooling performance requires a different test.
