Next in the Forge Motorsport product line for flow testing is the Carbon Fibre Intake.
The first test is using the intake with the Turbo Inlet Elbow and IS20/38 turbo housing adapter. The Forge Motorsport intake flowed 396 CFM @ 28″ of H2O.
Removal of the Turbo Inlet Elbow to measure just the intake was the next test.
With the Turbo Inlet Elbow and compressor housing adapter removed the intake flowed 632 CFM @ 28″ of H2O.
Notably the Forge “closed” intake flowed more than several “open” intake systems.
Conclusion:
The Forge Motorsport intake performed very well on both of the flow tests.
Prior testing has been done with the Forge Turbo Inlet Pipe using a small adapter and a large adapter.
So would this maybe mean that you don’t need a aftermarket TIP with the forge Intake? It definitely seems like a viable intake to use now.
I would not do that. The stock elbow reduces the airflow a good amount. I think you would be better off with an aftermarket elbow and stock intake.
