Background:
Flow test of another candidate FMIC to determine how pressure drop compares with other intercooler options. The subject of this test is an ARM Motorsport FMIC.
Test Procedure:
After checking the flow bench calibration the FMIC is mounted to the flow bench and a bell-mouth inlet is inserted in the silicone intake hose.
Test Results:
The ARM Motorsports FMIC flows 162 CFM @ 28″ of H2O.
Compared with all intercoolers that have been flow tested:
Conclusion:
The ARM Motorsports FMIC flows 162 CFM @ 28″ of H2O which is on the low end of the middle range of Front Mount Intercoolers that have been flow tested.
Similar in size and design to the Vibrant 12810 intercooler, the ARM Motorsport IC flows slightly less, by 6 CFM, than the Vibrant IC.
Jeff, thanks for testing this intercooler. Were you able to perform a bench cooling test as well?
You’re welcome Mike, not yet, setup is more involved and I haven’t had the time. I plan to perform that test also.
