Background:
After driving with the BFI Stage 1 mounts for a while, I decided to switch back to the 034 Motorsport density line mounts.
Since I have been evaluating exhaust system changes to the CC Design exhaust, I recorded sound level and frequency data with each brand of mount to account for any changes the mounts made before continuing exhaust system testing.
Sound change:
Consistent with previous measurements, the 034 Motorsport mounts correspond with a lower sound level at lower engine speeds.
Notably, cabin sound levels are higher with the 034 mounts when engine speed increases past 2250 RPM.
The mount swap does not change the dominant cabin frequency.
There’s also no appreciable shift in the percentage of low-frequency sounds.
