Background:
Previously, I discussed acquiring a CC Design custom turboback exhaust, and in my post detailing the initial drive, I noted that the setup was louder than I wanted and that CC Design was planning to add another muffler to the exhaust.
This post addresses the progress made so far.
Update:
My first thought for a muffler solution was to utilize a Magnaflow muffler similar to the one I had installed on the AWE Tuning exhaust several years ago. The CC Design exhaust from the midpipe back is 3.5 inches, which limits the number of commercial options that are available.
After looking at the few options from Magnaflow and Borla, CC Design offered to make a muffler, which I decided to go forward with.
The muffler design retains the 3.5″ piping and is a straight-through perforated tube.

There is a Helmholtz resonator adjacent to the center pipe.

The assembled and nearly complete muffler is shown below.

The only thing left to do is add an exhaust hanger before the muffler is complete.

Receiving, installing, and testing the new exhaust piece are on my agenda for the coming weeks.
