Another intercooler came available to perform an airflow test on, this time the product is the Neuspeed IS38 FMIC for the Mk7 GTI.
As during previous tests this intercooler is mounted onto the flow bench with an effort to minimize the amount of coupler hose. This is done to try and assess the intercooler performance without the influence of the coupler design affecting the outcome.
The results were a surprise:
The Neuspeed FMIC flowed significantly less than any of the other intercoolers that have been tested thus far. Notably this FMIC does not function in a bi-cooler arrangement like the eBay FMIC previously tested.
