Dropping fuel rail pressure led to the purchase of an HPA upgraded high pressure fuel pump to allow tuning to make the most of the Shuenk IS38+ turbocharger that is installed in my GTI.
After installing the HPA pump a couple of street pulls were made to check that fuel pressure remained steady.
With things looking good for fueling the tuning with the Shuenk IS38+ turbo can resume.
Shown below is how the fuel pressure looked before upgrading the pump.
if you upgrade your low pressure fuel pump or high pressure fuel pump does it require additional tuning or will these function fine on a tuned car without additional adjustments?
I’ve been operating with the HPFP without any issues arising. I do plan on having the car further tuned, that was the reason for purchasing the HPFP. I don’t know what changes a different LPFP would require, if any.
