Background:
The Mabotech M600 turbocharger is being bench-tested to determine the turbine housing flow rate.

Test Process:
The turbine housing is placed on an adapter that connects it to the flow bench. At the housing inlet, a bellmouth is attached to smooth airflow into the housing.

The turbine blades are held stationary during the test, which is performed at a depression of 28″ of H2O.
Two turbine housings possessing different A/Rs are being tested. One is ~0.58 and the other ~0.71

Test Results:
The two Mabotech turbine housings flow the same amount of air within the measurement margin of error (MoE).

Unsurprisingly, the flow rate through the Mabotech turbine housing is greater than that of the IS38 and IS20 housings previously tested.
Conclusion:
Two Mabotech M600 turbocharger turbine housings were flow-tested and found to flow the same volume of air within the measurement margin of error.
The flow rate through the M600 turbine housing is about 22% higher than through the IS38 housing and 13% higher than through the IS20 housing.
Note: The flow rates through the IS38 and IS20 do seem backward. On-vehicle turbine inlet pressure testing will one day help to resolve the contradiction.
