Introduction:
The marketplace for aftermarket automotive parts is replete with examples of exaggerated claims and scant evidence in support of “performance” parts advertising.
EQT caught my attention by refusing to substantiate or even address the claims it made for the products it sells. EQT owner Ed Susman responded to my inquiry about the claims by starting a smear campaign against me.
The combination of advertising that violates Federal Truth in Advertising law and defamatory statements by the owner raised my suspicions about how EQT conducts business and made me curious to understand how the company had become popular within the VW Mk7 aftermarket parts segment.
This page provides a summary of evidence that supports the following model explaining EQT’s success.

There are also links to detailed analyses of specific examples of EQT conduct that support this model.
